BIG LIE #6 page 15, first paragraph. "How many people go to
heaven? Jesus called them a "little flock." (Luke 12:32) They will
finally number 144,000." The lie is that only 144,000 will be in heaven. I have blogged
about this here
and here
and here.
Suffice it to say that Jesus
himself taught that wherever He is, ALL his servants “will be also.” "If anyone serves Me, he must
follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me,
the Father will honor him.” (John 12:26, NAS) Since Jesus is in heaven,
then all His servants, whose numbers far exceeds 144,000, “will be also.”
BIG LIE #7 also on page 15, first paragraph. "They (the 144,000) will rule over the earth with Jesus." I have blogged about this here. This is an instance where the WT simply changes the word of God to align with their doctrine instead of changing their doctrine to align with the word of God. The key WT word is OVER. In Revelation 5:10 the actual Greek word is translated UPON.
BIG LIE #8 page 20 under the heading, "2. What did Jesus say about false Christians? Jesus warned that false prophets would corrupt Christianity." I would agree with this 100%. Where the WT runs into trouble is that THEY are False Prophets. I have blogged about four of their more infamous predictions here and here and here and here. I'll let the WT condemn the WT: “Jehovah, the God of the true prophets, will put ALL false prophets to shame either by not fulfilling the false prediction of such self-assuming prophets or by having His own prophecies fulfilled in a way opposite to that predicted by the false prophets. False prophets will try to hide their reason for feeling shame by denying who they really are.”
BIG LIE #9 page 20 under the heading, "3. How can you recognize true worshippers? True worshippers respect the Bible as God's Word." The WT disrespects the Bible in several ways. (1) As I stated in BIG LIE #7, the WT does not shy away from altering the Word of God when it conflicts with their doctrine. I have blogged about it here and here and here and here and here and here and here. (2) The WT states that the Bible is insufficient to teach you despite 2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;" The WT says you need the WT to make the Bible profitable, “God has not arranged for that Word to speak independently or to shine forth life giving truths by itself. It is through his organization (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) God provides this light.” The Watchtower, May 1, 1957, p. 274. (3) Read what three Bible scholars have to say about the WT's Bible, The New World Translation. Dr. Bruce M. Metzger, professor of New Testament at Princeton University, calls the NWT "a frightful mistranslation," "Erroneous" and "pernicious" "reprehensible," "If the Jehovah's Witnesses take this translation seriously, they are polytheists." Dr. William Barclay, a leading Greek scholar, said, "it is abundantly clear that a sect which can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest." British scholar H.H. Rowley stated, "From beginning to end this volume is a shining example of how the Bible should not be translated." (4) I have blogged about the unreliability of the WT Bible here.
Part 5, more lies in this WT publication is here.
