QUESTION: In the case of JW’s, how does REVERSE ENGINEERING apply to their translation of the Greek Manuscripts?

In RE one starts with the end product. When translating the Bible the WT starts with their doctrines and then they go to the Original Greek Texts and interpret those texts so that they reflect the doctrines of the WT. What the WT should do is translate the verses in an unbiased manner and then formulate their doctrines.

What the WT is doing is called EISEGESIS. Eisegesis literally means “to lead into”, as in “leading our own ideas into the text”. The opposite is “EXEGESIS”, which means “to draw out”. So EISEGESIS is when we “read something into” a biblical text that may not actually be there. And EXEGESIS is when we try to “draw out” of the text what is actually there.

So the question is not, how can a translator make this biblical text say what he wants it to say, but how can a translator translate this text so that he gets out of the way, and allow the biblical text to speak for itself. Will the translator allow it to challenge his ideas (EXEGESIS), or  is he really only interested in confirming them (EISEGESIS)?

JW’s translate the Bible like that also. They mold the Bible into their own image, rather than allowing it to mold them. They have already decided what Scripture should and should not say before they begin to translate and when they do translate it, lo and behold, it confirms all their prejudices, blesses their philosophies, and always, always agrees with their doctrines

Translating NT Greek into readable English and have the readable English stay true to the NT Greek is not an easy process. In my pic above I have condensed the process to just six (6) steps. However, the process is much more complicated. Go here or here to see the entire process. 

The translation process is long and arduous. But checking to see if it has resulted in a Final Copy that is true to the Original is quite easy. You do this by reading the Word for Word Translation (Step 4) and then read the Final Copy (Step 6) and ask yourself: "Is the Final Copy True to the Original?"

The WT, realizing the checking process is easy, incorporated this into their Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures. Page 5 of the KIT is reproduced below.

Question: Who is the KIT written for? 

Answer: Sincere searchers "who desire an accurate understanding (translation) of the Greek Scriptures, without interference by preconceived doctrine."

Question: What is the purpose behind the KIT?

Answer: To aid Sincere Searchers by publishing a translation that reflects "what the original language says and means."

Question: How is the KIT laid out?

Answer: The KIT is arranged in two columns. The broad Left-hand Column contains the original koine Greek and between the Greek lines is the word-for-word English Translation. The slim Right-hand column contains the WT's New World Translation (NWT). 

The word-for-word interlinear translation and the NWT are arranged parallel on the page.

Question: How does the layout of the KIT accomplish Points 1 and 2?

Answer: Since the koine Greek is directly across from the NWT, "comparisons can be made between the two readings and the accuracy of any modern translation can be determined."

Below are two verses from the KIT. Do exactly what the WT asks Sincere Seekers to do. Read the verse from the Original Greek, then read the WT translation and ask yourself, "Is the Translation True to the Original Greek?"
