Is Your Religion the True One?

Watchtower, July 1, 1968, p. 389

READ the two sections bordered in RED. The second part states, "MAKING THE TEST. Following are a few questions that should help you to see whether your religion adheres to the Bible. Answer the inquiries as you read them. Then ponder what the Bible has to say. If  yours is the true religion it will be in harmony with the Bible."

Here are the questions the WT asks to determine, "Is Your Religion the True One?" In making their case AGAINST any of the following doctrines the WT follows their usual pattern. (1) Quote only those verses that support their doctrine and ignore those that don't. If they considered all of scripture, their doctrine would have to change. (2) If the Greek Manuscripts clash with WT doctrine, the translations of the Greek Manuscripts are changed (English words are added or deleted). This manipulation gives the appearance that WT doctrine aligns with the original Greek. What the WT should do is align their doctrine with the original Greek and not change the translation of the original Greek to align with their doctrine.

Here are the questions the WT wants you to answer.

Question #1. Does your religion teach the 'Trinity Doctrine'? According to the WT, if it does, it IS NOT the true religion. They state that Jesus is NOT GOD. But here the WT engages in its most damning activity--changing scripture. See my blog here, here, here or here for evidence that the WT alters the Holy Spirit inspired Greek manuscripts to conform to their doctrine instead of altering their doctrine to conform to the inspired Greek manuscripts.

Question#2. Does you religion teach an "Immortal Soul"? According to the WT: If it does, it IS NOT the true religion. Here the WT only quotes verses that support their doctrine. Look here for what the entire Bible says about man's soul. Thank you Got Questions for this answer.

Question#3. Does you religion teach an "Eternal Hell"? According to the WT: If it does, it IS NOT the true religion. Again, the WT only quotes verses that support their doctrine. See my blog here that quotes the entirety of scripture about Hell.

Question#4. Does your religion teach "Are the Dead Conscious"? According to the WT, If it does, it IS NOT the true religion. The WT only quotes verses that support their doctrine. Look here for what the entire Bible says about man's soul. Thank you Got Questions for this answer.

Question#5+. The WT then, in rapid-fire succession, asks several questions and gives several scriptures for "proof." (A) Does you religion teach that Christians are still "under the Mosaic system", (B) "does your religion permit praying or bowing before images in worship," (C) "does it allow the eating of blood," (D) "does it have a clergy class upon which it bestows titles such as Father or Reverend."  According to the WT, If it does any of the above, it IS NOT the true religion.

Here are my rapid-fire answers, (A) here*, (B) here*, (C) here, (D) here*. *Thanks to Got Questions.

More Questions. The WT then devotes a section to "Examine the Fruitage," of your religion, again in rapid-fire succession. They attempt to show that the JW's and only the JW's show evidence of Fruitage. Here are the evidences the WT lists. (A) Must not engage in war, (B) must not engage in politics, (C) exalt God's name, Jehovah, (D) provide free home Bible studies, (E) preach door-to-door.

Here are my rapid-fire answers. (A) here*, (B) here*, (C) here. For (D) and (E) there is not a true Christian or Christian church that does not provide "Free Home Bible Studies" and is willing to preach Jesus at every opportunity. Jesus' last command to his disciples was in Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Note: Christians are to be "Jesus' Witnesses." *Thanks to Got Questions.

THREE QUESTIONS FOR JW'S

Question #1.
Does your religion's "Gospel" teach "you are saved by Good Works?" If it does, IT IS NOT the true religion. The WT teaches Salvation through "Good Works" here. The WT Gospel is here, compare it to the Biblical Gospel here.

Question #2.
Would God allow a False Prophet to teach the people of God Bible Truth? The Answer: OF COURSE NOT! How would God have us deal with a proven False Prophet. (For proof that the WT is a False Prophet, see my six (6) part series "A Prophet WAS NOT Among Them" here.) The punishment for a False Prophet is laid out in Deut. 18:22, "But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death." Today, it is against the law to kill someone who is a proven False Prophet. However, I believe we should treat them as if they ARE dead. We should not listen to them or read their publications. They definitely should not be teaching us Biblical Truth.

Question #3.
Would the true religion hide members from prosecution who are pedophiles or child abusers? The answer: OF COURSE NOT! However, by reviewing the WT's actions in this area, one can see that they routinely shield members from charges of pedophilia or child abuse. Go here for the proof.

My blog, "JW's ARE Ordained by God!" here, offers  a unique take on the False WT system.
