Pesky Bible verses that contradict WT doctrine! Part 1

John 1:3 –“All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.” (KIT)

The WT states that creation came into being in the following manner. God created Jesus, then God gave Jesus the blueprints for creation and Jesus (the master workman) created everything else. Thus Jesus cannot say he created everything because he did not create himself.

However, look at what the Bible says in John 1:3, “all things came into existence through him (Jesus), and without him (Jesus) not even one thing came into existence.” What can the WT do with John 1:3 since it contradicts their doctrine about creation and about Jesus?

First, the WT simply ignores this verse. You might say, “but a JW might come across the verse in reading their Bible.” Not likely. The WT does not allow JW’s to study the Bible alone or in groups without WT study aides. Thus, JW’s will not ask about a verse they are not allowed to study. Second, when the WT talks about John 1:3 they will concentrate on the first part of John 1:3, “All things came into existence through him,” and argue that “all things” does not mean “absolutely all things,” it is talking only about the things that Jesus created. They argue that Jesus created all the things that he created.

However, the Holy Spirit, through John, wanted to make sure that the meaning of John 1:3 was absolutely clear. So, the Holy Spirit tells us in two different ways, first positively that “all things came into existence through Jesus,” then negatively that without Jesus “not even one thing came into existence.” The WT argues long and hard on John 1:3a but remains silent on John 1:3b. Watchtower doctrine teaches that, one thing came into existence without Jesus—that one thing being Jesus Himself—who the WT claims was created by Jehovah God. John 1:3b is clear, even the WT’s own KIT states, “All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.”

The WT’s doctrine that Jehovah created Jesus then Jesus created everything falls apart in light of John 1:3b.
