A Prophet Was NOT Among Them! Part 3

As a review, "A Prophet Was NOT Among Them! Part 1" is here and Part 2 is here. The Watchtower of April 1, 1972 (pictured below) contains a question, the answer, and a challenge.

THE QUESTION . . . Today, does Jehovah have a PROPHET to warn people of dangers and to DECLARE THINGS TO COME?

THE ANSWER . . . Affirmative! This "prophet" was know as "Int'l Bible Students" but today they are called "Jehovah's Christian Witnesses."

THE CHALLENGE . . . The articles says it is easy to say you are a "prophet" of God but another thing to prove it. The only way to prove you are a "prophet" is to review the record. WHAT DOES IT SHOW?

The definitive work on this subject can be found here.

Prophecy of 1925--Resurrection of the Patriarchs

Let the WT speak for the WT.

"...there will be a resurrection of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and other faithful ones of old ... we may expect 1925 to witness the return of these faithful men of Israel from the condition of death, being resurrected and fully restored to perfect humanity and made the visible, legal representatives of the new order of things on earth.... Therefore, we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, Published in 1920, pages 88-90. You can download a free copy of the Millions book here.)

"The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914." See below. (Watchtower, July 15, 1924) See below.

Just how sure can a JW, in 1923, be about the 1925 prophecy.

"Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge," (Watchtower, April 1, 1923, p. 106). See below.

The WT so believed the above prediction that they built a home in San Diego, a home for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc. They called the home Beth Sarim (meaning House of Princes)--they picked San Diego because its climate is similar to the climate of Israel. But those named in the Hall of Faith, Hebrews 11, never did show up in at Beth Sarim looking for lodging. See Wikipedia article on Beth Sarim here.

The WT also predicted that after Abraham, Isaac, etc were resurrected and "fully restored to perfect humanity" they then would be "made the visible, legal representatives of the new order of things on earth." (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 88.) See below. Has ABC, CBS or NBC shown Abraham, Isaac, etc. visibly leading anything anywhere on earth." Don't think they would have missed that one.

What would the WT have to say about this prophecy?

"This is an important point in studying prophecy, and the student must keep it in mind. The test was provided by Jehovah, and to such test all the prophecies must be subjected. If these prophecies have not been fulfilled, and if all possibility of fulfillment is past, then these prophets are proven false." (Prophecy, p. 22).  See below.

I'm kinda thinking that since 1925 has come and gone and no Abraham, Issac, etc., the Watch Tower Prophets are proven to be false. Watch Tower spokesman Fredrick Franz agreed that this prophecy was not going to be fulfilled. In 1954, when asked at a trial in
Scotland why the property was sold he explained: "Because it was there, and the prophets had not yet come back to occupy it, . . . the property was sold as serving no present purpose." The text of Franz's testimony can be found here

A Prophet Was NOT Part 4 is here.

At this point WHAT DOES THE RECORD SHOW?
