We advertise on CL to share our
Testimonies. An example: "X JW 4 Jesus. Request our story." Someone from
Everett, WA emailed back: "****, "you know how
stupid you sound??!! Stop trying to covertly impose your stupid religious
beliefs on others. Just shut the **** up about your story and more people might
respect you. I flag this stupid ad every time I see it because I know what
you're trying to do."
Here is MY ANSWER!
Our Ad on CL is there along with ads for “senior chat,” I wonder what they are really up to, “free cardboard,” what’s up with that, “self-help group,” what do they want to help themselves to. Did you click on any of those OR did you pass them by because you were not interested.
According to PEW Research Center at least 100,000 people leave the
JW’s each year. Some of those live in Washington state and some are looking to see why
others left the WT organization and those people just may click on our ad. No
gun to their head, no cost, not looking for any kind of information. Just
sharing our story from "In the WT, to Out of the WT and finally Finding Jesus as Lord and Savior." 99% of those who request our Testimonies we never hear from
again. What they do and what they think of our Testimonies we never find out.
We are not looking to change minds—the Bible tells us that that is the job of
the Holy Spirit—ours is to share the Gospel and the Gospel is in our
Testimonies.
Our ad is set to run for 30 days but rarely runs for more than 3 before being flagged.
In addition, CL prevents us from running ads, often for a 30 day period. I
wonder if the self-help group runs into that problem? It is not that people
hate us (they don’t know us)—they hate Jesus whom they think they know. And
why—because Jesus requires them to repent (turn away) from their sins (and
people love their sins) and turn to Jesus to be their Lord (Leader) and Savior.
He will lead and we are to follow His example on how to interact with the
world.
We know that God will cause all who want to hear the Gospel to hear the Gospel. He may use our Testimonies or not. We are not to worry about what instrument God uses--we are to do our part and make the Gospel known and we do that in our Testimonies.
So, flag if you must. We will not be deterred. God will use us when He sees fit. For 2,000+ years, people have done their best to stop Jesus from growing his church. But toady it continues to grow (check out the growth in China--yes in Communist, God hating China.)
