CRAIG'S LIST #3 of 10--Any Religion is as Good as Another--You Decide what is Right for YOU.

We advertise on CL to share our Testimonies. An example: “XJW Now for Jesus. Happy to share our Testimonies." Someone from Portland, OR emailed back: "Any Religion is as good as another. Each person decides for themselves which is right for them. In the grand scheme of things all religions are man-made interpretations. It’s just like salad dressing, you might like one but do not like another. The dressing/religion you choose is right for you but may not be right for another. It is all a matter of choice."

MY ANSWER: You obviously believe that there are many different religions just like there are many different salad dressings. However, there are only TWO systems of religion in the world. Now, you may see around the world 10,000 different Religious names and terms, but there ARE ONLY TWO RELIGIONS in the world. There is the TRUE and there is the FALSE. There is the religion of divine accomplishment, God has done it all in Christ, and there is the religion of human achievement, where we do some of it.

There is the religion of GRACE and there is the religion of WORKS. Man-made systems of religion are based upon the fact that we don’t really need a savior—we have the capability and the capacity to develop our own righteousness; just give us a little religious environment, give us a few rules, a few routines, some rituals, and we’ll crank it out on our own. That’s the religion of human achievement, and it comes under a multitude of different titles, but it’s all the same. And amazingly enough, man is able to achieve the goals of a man-made religion. For example, the WT, has four rules. (1) Take in knowledge, ie read WT material. (2) Live a clean moral life (the WT has plenty of rules in addition to the 10 Commandments), (3) Be a WT member in good standing (the WT defines “in good standing”), and (4) Go door to door (the WT decides how much is enough). All this can be found in the Watchtower, February 15, 1983.

So you choice is simple: (1) A man made religion in which to can pat yourself on the back since you have accomplished whatever the standards are in your chosen religion OR (2) Christianity in which you must know that you cannot live up to God’s standard of perfection and must cry out for a Savior, Jesus, who died on a cross to pay for your sin penalty and gave you his righteousness so you can stand before God perfect in every respect.
