Christmas Letter 2018

May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright New Year. Here’s wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Each year our family, along with Christmas Cards, sends out a newsletter, part of which is a Gospel presentation. As in the past, I decided to post the Gospel part of our newsletter.

Christmas is the celebration of the historical event of the birth of Jesus Christ. He is not just any man but He is God in flesh. He entered into our world 2,000 years ago. His purpose was to become one of us so that He would display the perfection and holiness of God and through His work of living perfectly and dying on the cross for our sins,  all who repent and trust in Him would be saved from the righteous judgment of God.

So, Christmas is supposed to be the time of year where we celebrate the birth of Christ. But, unfortunately, it's become a commercial holiday rather than a religious one. Christmas is mostly known as a time for businesses to make money, for people to give gifts, for children to be excited, for parties, etc. The "reason for the season" is supposed to be Jesus, not gifts, not parties, and not watching "the big game." Of course, having celebrations, attending parties, and watching the big game is not wrong. It's just that the meaning of Christmas is supposed to be a recognition of and appreciation of the birth of the One who loves us and died for us in our place.

Anyone can understand Christmas in just three sentences: (1) I am a sinner. (2) As a sinner I need a Savior. (3) Jesus Christ is that Savior.

Three sentences! So, the best way to celebrate Christmas is to repent of your sins and believe on Jesus as your Savior. If you have never done that, then this is a great time of the year in which to believe on Him.

Christmas Letter 2020 is here.
