In ‘Twisted Scriptures and other Shenanigans Part 3’ (here) I looked at the “justification” the WT gives for inserting the word Jehovah in the NT 237 times without any manuscript backing. I then looked at a verse when the WT requirements were met to insert ‘Jehovah,’ but they didn’t make the change. In this blog I will look at the ONE instance when they have no “justification” for the change but make it anyway.
For background, WT doctrine holds that Jesus is created and therefore cannot be God. Isaiah 9:6, is a reference to Jesus (the WT agrees), “ . . . and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, prince of Peace.” The WT says that Jesus is called a ‘Mighty God,’ but Jehovah and only Jehovah is ‘Almighty.’ Never mind that the WT is now polytheists. WT doctrine cannot allow for Jesus being called ‘Almighty.’

Now look at Revelation 1:8:
"I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty." The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures (KIT)
Taking a look at the Greek side of the KIT reveals that it says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega is saying Lord.” Well here is an instance where the WT has inserted “Jehovah’ for the word ‘Lord.’ For such an insertion the WT has said that Rev. 1:9 must be a reference to an OT passage that is talking about Jehovah. If you look at a Bible concordance, it will show that there are three references to ‘Alpha and Omega’—Rev. 1:8, 21:6, and 22:13. Not a single verse in the OT refers to ‘Alpha and Omega.’
Why has the WT violated their own rule for inserting ‘Jehovah’ into the NT. Read all of Revelation 1 and you will see that Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the Almighty. But since WT doctrine holds that Jesus cannot be ‘the Almighty’ they have simply inserted Jehovah at Rev. 1:8. Another instance of the WT changing scriptures to conform to their doctrine, instead of conforming their doctrine to match scripture.
Twisted Part 5 is here.
