Recently a person emailed
me that they had just been given the book, "30 Years a Watchtower
Slave," and asked, "What is a Watchtower Slave?"
Here is my response.
A Watchtower Slave is someone who follows the Watchtower Bible and
Tract Society without question. Therefore, each and every Jehovah’s Witness
would be considered a WATCHTOWER SLAVE because each and every JW follows the
policies, rules, teachings, regulations and dictates of the WTBTS WITHOUT
QUESTION. I can say this without reservation based on the following
WT quotes.
Don’t like just one WT rule—leave the WT. Listen to
Governing Body member Albert Schroder in a speech delivered on May 29, 1980. "We serve
not only Jehovah God but we are under our 'mother' (the organization). Our
'mother' has the right to make rules and regulations for us... This book,
entitled Branch Organization Procedure, contains 28 subjects; and its
sub-sections involve regulations and administration. In it there are 1,177
policies and regulations...this is an improved, fine-tuned organization, and we
are expected to follow its policies. If there are some who feel that they
cannot subject themselves to the rules and regulations now in operation, such
ones ought TO BE LEAVING and not be involved here in the further
progressive work."
Don’t agree with WT doctrine in just ONE AREA—Adjust Your Thinking. Go Along to Get Along. “We
should meekly go along with the Lord's theocratic organization and wait for
further clarification rather than balk at the first
mention of a thought unpalatable to us and proceed to quibble and mouth our
criticisms and opinions as though they were worth more than the slave's
provision of spiritual food. Theocratic ones will appreciate the Lord's visible
organization and not be so foolish as to put against Jehovah's channel their
own human reasoning and sentiment and personal feelings." The
Watchtower, February 1, 1952, pgs. 79-80.
