BOMB SHELL--The Reason the WT's KIT is Out of Print! Part 1

An interlinear Greek Bible allows the average person (who does not understand NT Greek) to see the direct correlation between an English translation and the original Greek text. The WT's KIT does this rather nicely.  To download a free PDF copy of the 1969 KIT here.

When you open the KIT you will see a page divided into two columns. The wider column on the left contains the original Greek Text (the WT uses the Westcott/Hort 1881 Greek text). Underneath each Greek word is the equivalent English word.  The slim, right hand column contains how the WT has translated those English words into readable English. The slim side contains the WT's New World Translation. The word-for-word interlinear translation and the New World Translation are arranged parallel on the page, so that comparisons can be made between the two readings and the accuracy of the NWT can be determined.

(Below is a page from the KIT. As you can see, I selected John 14:14. My blog, which is available here, on this portion of scripture shows how the WT has DELETED one word to harmonize THEIR doctrine with THEIR Bible.)

According to the KIT itself (on the copyright page), there were 500,000 copies printed for this first edition.  In 1985, the second edition (Blue Cover) was released in which 800,000 copies were produced.  The goal of this book, stated on page 5, is to help “sincere seekers” and “seekers of truth and life" to see the accuracy of the Watchtower’s own New World Translation of the Bible.

This must have book (for anyone interested in reaching JW's with the Gospel) is now out-of-print and not available at most Kingdom Halls.  Why is this book out-of-print if it clearly testifies to the truthfulness of Watchtower teachings? Simply put, the goal of the organization has BACKFIRED.  As individual JW's began to use the KIT, it was made clear that the New World Translation was a deceptive translation of the Greek.  The Watchtower Bible is merely a man made book published to promote its false teachings. The organization had to pull the plug and no longer make this resource available.  In fact, if you ask the current generation of Watchtower students about this interlinear, you will discover that most have never even heard of it. Older JW's may have a copy of the KIT but in my experience, when I have been able to see the copy, it looks pristine, brand-new, never used. A JW told me that he did not use his because, "its Greek to me."
Thus, the WT's own KIT is a resource that should not be overlooked. It can be used to show that the WT has mistranslated many verses so that it appears their doctrines are supported by the Bible when in fact they are not. This can be ascertained by a careful comparison of the Greek text with its English equivalent and how those English equivalents were then translated into the NWT.

I have listed my blogs here where I have used the KIT to show that the New World Translation is biased and not to be trusted. Part 2 of Bomb Shell is here.
