At Brooklyn HQ the WT proudly displays the Telly it won--or did they buy it? You decide!

What exactly is a Telly?

From TellyAwards.com found here they state: "The Telly Awards honors the very best film and video productions, groundbreaking online video content, and outstanding local, regional, and cable tv commercials and programs."

The definitive article on this topic is here.

But I decided to do a bit of research on my own. Such a prestigious award should be easy to find. So I started, where else but with a GOOGLE search, "World Wide Journalism Awards." I found that there are 69 Journalism Awards from around the world found here

But no Telly.

My second search, "World Wide Film Awards" which is hereThis included Critics Awards  in 25 countries, Festival Awards in 33 countries, Industry Awards in 40 countries and Audience Awards in 9 countries.

Still no Telly.

My next search, "World Wide Media Awards" is hereSponsoring these awards are the following: The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes and many more but . . .

No sign of a Telly Award.

Another search: "Media and Journalism Awards" which is here, includes the Edward R. Murrow Awards and the Webby Awards (which honors the best of the web, from multimedia to digital journalism to interactive publishing to online campaigns.)

But alas, no Telly Award.

UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2016--I can no longer find Telly Awards on Wikipedia. The information below I found in March, 2016.

For my last GOOGLE search I simply typed "Telly Awards" and clicked on

Telly Awards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I found the following interesting information. The Wikipedia information is in BLACK and my comments are in BLUE (Anything in all caps is my emphasis).

The very first line states: This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy.

The 2nd paragraph starts with: Telly Awards is a COMPANY (that sells awards for profit) established in 1979 that provides PAID-ENTRY AWARDS for video production, advertising and commercial media. The website also offers a publicity tools section to aid recipients in publicizing their awards, and a store page where WINNERS CAN PURCHASE THEIR STATUES ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN DEEMED WINNERS (Are there any losers?)

The 4th and final paragraph states: The awards are divided into 18 categories, each containing further subcategories, with over 700 divisions in total for which entrants may apply. ENTRANTS PAY FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION AND CAN APPLY FOR AS MANY AS THEY DESIRE.

THE COST

The Telly Awards Entry Fee is $105 (U.S.) for single entries and $190 (U.S.) for campaign entries. A Telly Statue is $210 (U.S.) and a certificate to attest to your winning entry is $45 (U.S.).

An entry may be entered into multiple categories by PAYING THE ENTRY FEE for each category entered.

If you go to JW.org and in the Search Box type--Telly Awards--you will find the following.

Witnesses Receive Telly Awards for Video News Reporting

Two video news releases produced by Jehovah’s Witnesses each received a 2015 Bronze Telly Award in the “Online Video News Feature” category.

THE POTENTIAL PROFIT

The Telly Award company is in a postion to make a tidy sum. Over 700 divisions and lets assume five entrees per division at $105 per entry which equals $357,000. Also assume everyone buys a Telly Trophy at $210 each--(why enter if you are not going to have a statue to show off) which equals $735,000. And of course you need a certificate, at $45 a pop, to show that the award was "honestly" won. Which means another $157,500--for a grand total of $1,249,500.

CONCLUSION:

You too can receive a TELLY AWARD by following the WT example:

1.  Make a video.

2. Pay a $105 (US) entrance fee. If you want more than one trophy enter in more than one division.

3. Wait to be declared a Winner. Be patient it will happen.

4. Pay $210 (US) at the Telly Store for the Telly Statue. You might also consider paying an additional $45 (US) for a certificate attesting to your award so people will know that you “LEGITAMATELY EARNED” the Telly.

5. Proudly display the Telly you have worked so hard to earn.
